Emergencies
When the Surgery is closed your call will be diverted to the out-of-hours service.
You may also telephone the out-of-hours service directly on 0845 045 0281.
If you are unable to contact the Doctor and the emergency persists, then ring
999 without delay.
When the Surgery is closed, please only contact the Doctor in an EMERGENCY if
the problem cannot wait until the next Surgery.
Out-of-hours
Spilsby patients who have urgent medical problems that will not wait until normal
working hours, may either ring the surgery on 0844 477 3309 between the hours
of 6.30pm and 8.00am during the week and at weekends from 6.30pm on Friday to 8.00am on the
Monday. Your call will automatically be transferred to our out-of-hours service,
who will take your details, ie name, address, telephone number etc and details
of your medical problem. Alternatively, you may contact the out-of-hours service
directly on 0845 045 0281.
The out-of-hours service will contact the the most appropriate healthcare professional
who will call you back to discuss your problem and, after taking a full history,
will either:
1 Give advice over the phone
2 Ask to assess the patient at the GP base
3 Visit the patient at home
4 Admit the patient directly to hospital via 999 ambulance
The out-of-hours service is provided by Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust and any
queries, comments or complaints should be directed to them. They can be contacted
by telephone on 01522 513355 between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday, or in
writing to Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust, Cross O'Cliff, Bracebridge Heath, Lincoln, LN4 2HN
Help and advice is also available 24 hours a day, seven days a week from NHS
Direct who can be contacted by telephone on 0845 46 47 or on-line at www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk For
patients who are deaf or hard of hearing, a textphone service is available on
0845 606 4647.
Access
To The Surgery
There is no access for cars through the Bull Yard and Simpson Street except in
an emergency.
Please approach the Surgery through the Post Office Lane car park ONLY. We are
a purpose-built Surgery with facilities for the disabled.
The surgery is open from 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. We offer pre-booked appointments on a Tuesday evening and Saturday morning (see How Do I Make An Appointment?). We close between
12.30 and 4.00pm for training purposes on one Wednesday afternoon per month.
The dates are posted in the waiting room and on the front door. The telephone

Please do not make routine calls between 6.30pm and 8.30am. During these hours
the Duty Doctor cannot take requests for repeat prescriptions or appointments,
and is primarily available to provide medical assistance with urgent/serious
illness or accident cases.
